Introduction to institutional review boards
Institutional review boards are established to protect the rights and interests of Human subject research and ensure the propriety of research conducted on human subjects, which may involve obtaining, investigating, and analyzing, or using human specimens or an individual person’s biological behavior, physiological, psychological, genetic, or medical information. Institutional review boards also ensure that research is conducted in accordance with relevant laws and ethical principles.

National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University has established two institutional review boards.
